Community for All
Since 1920, the Meadowlands YMCA has been a responsive advocate for the community in which it serves. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to succeed – regardless of their background or income. Our staff has worked consistently to meet the ever evolving needs of our community by expanding who we are able to reach, shifting where we operate, and adapting the many programs and services we offer for local residents.
During the past century, the enduring consistency within our organization is the nature of the YMCA core values – respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring. These ignite out ability to strengthen the Meadowlands community, making it stronger than ever before.
In 2018, more families than ever before asked for financial assistance to ensure that their children could have a Y experience. In response to this overwhelming need, we awarded over $600,000 in scholarships and program subsidies to over 3,500 kids and their families and hosted an abundance of free outreach programs for the community.

Our Focus
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they’re capable of achieving. Through the Y, millions of youth today are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement.
HEALTHY LIVING
With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result, millions of youth, adults and families are receiving the support, guidance and resources needed to achieve greater health and well-being for their spirit, mind and body.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Whether developing skills or emotional well-being through education and training, welcoming and connecting diverse demographic populations through global services, or preventing chronic disease and building healthier communities through collaborations with policymakers, the Y fosters the care and respect all people need and deserve.
