The Meadowlands YMCA is committed to making a lasting impact in the community and ensuring the future is bright for all our neighbors!

Here for Community

Our Food Insecurity Program feeds nearly 2,000 people every month through the Russo Family Food Pantry, our Child and Adult Care Food Program, and our fresh produce distributions.

  • We serve 200 students dinner and a snack every day after school at a local elementary school. 
  • The Russo Family Food Pantry provides both fresh and shelf stable food items to over 500 families every month.
  • Our fresh produce distribution hands out over 35,000 pounds of food at each distribution.
  • We are 1 of 10 YMCA’s in NJ designated as SNAP Navigators to assist families with applying for SNAP benefits.

Here for Youth

The 21st Century Community Learning Center at Robert L Craig School in Moonachie has impacted the lives of more than 1,300 students since its inception in 2010.

  • Over 45% of 8th graders have tested into specialty high schools over the past 2 years.
  • 160 students’ test scores were raised in the last year alone.
  • Specialty programs like drama, fashion, music, robotics, and nutrition have created an environment where students are enriched through STEAM activities.

Here for Wellness

The Meadowlands YMCA offers programs that support a healthy mind, body, and spirit! 

  • We host over 30 free monthly exercise classes for seniors throughout the Meadowlands region
  • 2025 will see the relaunch of our Diabetes Prevention Program to help prevent type 2 diabetes

Here for Families

The Meadowlands Family Success Center in Little Ferry offers wrap-around services and connections to necessary resources that support the needs of local families.

  • More than 650 families come through our doors receiving support every year.
  • Over 100 programs and workshops are offered to families at no cost 

Here for All

The Meadowlands YMCA is here to serve the entire community and ensure no one is turned away due to an inability to pay. Our Annual Campaign raises funds to offer scholarships to cover costs for swim lessons, summer camp, membership, youth programs, and Mara Center for Early Childhood Learning.

  • Families have received over $630,000 in scholarships and subsidies
  • Nearly 600 have received financial assistance in 2024
