MEET OUR TRAINERS
Like you, Personal Trainers come in a variety of shapes and sizes with different backgrounds and experience.
At the Y, Personal Trainers have at least one thing in common—they have and maintain certification through at least one national health and fitness organization or a 4 year exercise science degree. In addition to national certifications, many trainers have special areas of expertise—like Olympic Lifting, Barre, Kettlebells, Running, and Youth Specific Conditioning—that require additional (and often intensive) training.

Chris K

Anna F
Anna is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and AFAA Certified Group Exercise Instructor with a strong foundation in body mechanics and exercise programming. She has experience teaching a variety of formats, including Pilates (Mat & Reformer), HIIT, Spin, Barre, and strength training. Anna creates engaging, effective workouts for clients of all ages and has extensive experience in women’s and perinatal fitness, demonstrating that safe, results-driven training is possible at every stage of life.

Chris H
Chris has over 15 years of fitness experience, including training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. He is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with a focus on building strength, muscle, and functional movement. Chris helps clients improve conditioning and reach goals such as weight loss through challenging, effective training. He specializes in HIIT, weight training, plyometrics, and strength and conditioning.

Lucy B
Lucy has over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, beginning her career in 2010 and spending more than a decade as a personal trainer and master trainer. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Montclair State University and is certified through PTA Global. Lucy is passionate about helping clients look and feel their best through goal-driven, age-appropriate strength training. She specializes in strength and conditioning, TRX, senior fitness, and weight loss, with a strong focus on healthy aging and long-term quality of life.

Hector G
Hector brings years of experience as a Physical Therapy Tech, working with patients of all ages and athletic backgrounds. He is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with a strong focus on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and corrective exercise. Hector specializes in strength and conditioning and weight loss, helping clients train safely and effectively.

Jamie S
Jamie is a certified personal trainer through ACE, an AFPA group fitness instructor, and a Pound Pro. A lifelong athlete, she brings a strong focus on injury prevention and joint stability, shaped by her own experience with hypermobility. Jamie meets clients where they are in their fitness journey, providing the tools and guidance needed to build strength, confidence, and a healthier lifestyle. She specializes in HIIT, strength and conditioning, flexibility, and sports performance training.

Sidney M
Sidney is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with a background in medical assisting and nursing studies. His training philosophy centers on functional strength that supports everyday life. Sidney believes what you do in the gym should enhance your quality of life outside of it. He specializes in strength and conditioning and weight loss.

Charles S
Charles is an Exercise Physiologist and ISSA Certified Personal Trainer who focuses on improving everyday performance through smart, varied training. He enjoys working with athletes to enhance strength, endurance, and agility, while also helping clients build physique, improve posture, and safely return to training post-rehab. Charles holds a degree in Exercise Science from Kean University and is passionate about helping clients strengthen both body and mindset.

Phil S
Phil Stern has been a certified fitness professional since 2004, with a lifelong background in gymnastics and movement-based training. A former state and collegiate gymnastics champion, he has worked with children and adults for over 40 years. Phil specializes in bodyweight and functional training and enjoys helping athletes of all ages build strength, mobility, and confidence.

Matteo S
Matteo is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer who believes a strong connection between mind and body is essential for a balanced, productive lifestyle. He helps clients build and adapt sustainable habits to support their goals. Matteo specializes in strength and conditioning and weight loss.

Delia D
Delia has six years of experience working in a hospital setting as a Rehabilitation Associate, supporting patient recovery and care. She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and is pursuing her Corrective Exercise Specialist certification. Delia combines medical and fitness knowledge to support injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall wellness, helping clients train safely and effectively.

Carli M
Carli is a board-certified Athletic Trainer who earned her degree in Sports Medicine from Kean University. She is the Head Athletic Trainer at Bloomfield High School and brings a lifelong athletic background to her work. Carli is passionate about safe, functional training and helping clients build strength session by session while trusting the process and enjoying the journey.

Dean K
Dean has been involved in fitness from a young age, with a background in wrestling, track, and strength training. He is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach who works with clients of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes. Dean focuses on improving technique, turning weaknesses into strengths, and making the gym a welcoming place. He specializes in strength and conditioning, weight training, and weight loss.

Brandon A
Brandon is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with a background in the military and combat sports, including MMA, boxing, and Muay Thai. His training style reflects a never-give-up mindset, helping clients build strength, conditioning, and confidence. Brandon specializes in HIIT, weight training, strength and conditioning, and combat sports.

John has been involved in fitness from a young age, initially training to improve his performance in football. He played at Gettysburg College and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizations, and Management. A NASM Certified Personal Trainer, John focuses on functional, sustainable training that supports long-term health and athletic performance. He specializes in strength training and athletic performance.

Adam A
Adam developed his passion for fitness at the Meadowlands YMCA, where he trained from a young age. With a background in soccer and weight training, he brings both athletic experience and strong coaching skills to his work. Adam is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and is pursuing a degree in Business Management. Known for his approachable and motivating style, he helps clients build strength and sustainable habits. He specializes in strength and conditioning, weight training, bodybuilding, and weight loss.

Che is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer focused on strength training and disciplined, results-driven coaching. His background in the U.S. Air Force Reserves has shaped his resilient approach, helping clients build lasting physical and mental strength. Che believes in making every workout count.

Brian L
Brian is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer with a background in track & field and step team choreography. He focuses on effective coaching and purposeful challenge, combining functional training with targeted strength work. Brian helps clients reach their peak performance while keeping workouts engaging and practical. He specializes in bodybuilding, strength training, and athletic performance.
